Event Details

The ceremony will take place at St. Columbkille Church in Brighton, MA at 2:30pm on Saturday, September 6, 2008.

The reception will be held at the Royal Sonesta hotel in Cambridge, on the Charles River. The cocktail hour begins at 4:30pm. Please feel free to use the time in between the ceremony to check in to the hotel, take a stroll along the river, or enjoy a drink at Dante in the hotel.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Sonesta for the night of the wedding as well as the Friday night before. These rooms are held at a discounted rate (now just $199). Please call the Sonesta (617.806.4200) and mention the Beagan/Garland wedding to reserve a room.

We’ve hired a trolley to shuttle guests who are flying in from out of town from the Sonesta to the church and back. The trolley will be leaving the Sonesta promtly at 1:45. Please gather in the lobby around 1:30pm to be sure the trolley can leave on time. The trolley seats 36 people.

From I-95/128:
Take Exit 20A for Route 9 East. Go 4.8 miles. Turn left onto Chestnut Hill Ave.  Go 1.9 miles (crossing over Beacon Street and Commonwealth Ave). Chestnut Hill Ave becomes Market Street. Once on Market Street, go .2 miles and the church will be on your left. 

From 93:
Take exit 20 for the Mass Pike heading West. Take exit 20 toward Allston/Brighton. Merge onto Cambridge Street. Go about 1 mile. Bear slight right onto North Beacon Street. Go .6 miles. Turn left onto Market Street (Dunkin Donut’s will be on your left). The church will be on your right (.3 miles). 

From the church to the Royal Sonesta:
40 Edwin H Land Blvd, Cambridge, MA 02142  Go left out of the church parking lot onto Market Street. Go .3 miles. At Dunkin Donuts, turn right onto North Beacon Street. Go .6 miles on North Beacon. Turn left onto Cambridge Street and go 1.1 miles. Cross over the Charles River and make a right onto Memorial Drive.  Follow Memorial Drive. After 1.5 miles, bear left to stay on Memorial Drive. Go .7 miles and bear right to go towards Land Blvd. Follow Land Blvd to the front of the Sonesta.

There is self parking both at the Sonesta and at the Galleria Mall across the street.

The pet-friendly Hotel Marlowe is diagonally across the street from the Sonesta (walking distance).The Hyatt Regency Cambridge is a short cab ride down the river and may offer a slightly lower rate than the Sonesta.
